_Chaa Chaa_ Hichki – Movie Review

Hichki movie review

Sitting exactly at the center of the theatre, I started getting familiar to the sounds “Cha Cha”, “Waa” “Waa”. These type of sounds you will be continuously hearing throughout the movie, as the combination of these with situations is very impactful. It clearly shows the presence of intelligence in the whole film.

The whole movie wouldn’t have been engaging without Rani Mukherjee’s impressive acting, which made every intense or light moment very effortless on the screen. First half is based on Rani Mukherjee playing the character of Naina, with Tourette Syndrome, who wants to make her career into teaching despite of constant rejections and finally gets an opportunity, which is “9F”. 9F is the class of 14 students who end up in an elite school being a part of right to education, where no students or teachers want to have any kind of interaction with them. These students becomes minimum 14 different reasons for Naina to quit her job.

But nothing stops her. The movie follows the popular bollywood style of happy ending which the Indian audience loves to watch. The movie reminds you of your school days with a powerful message of, “You can succeed in your life with any kind of disorder and everyone has one special thing which don’t depend on how rich or how poor you are.”

This was the gist of movie. Now getting into the details, the movie is a bit stretched but yes, the director Siddharth P Malhotra, presents it in a very intellectually good way and it is worth recommendation. The 14 “9F” students have performed very well with the talented Rani Mukherjee. Screenplay would have been much better which could have turned up to be more realistic for the viewers. Getting towards the concept it looked quite similar to the mixture of the movies Taare Zameen Par and Hindi Medium just with different diseases and some interesting way of studying. Like the school syllabus, which we find too boring.

With all the pros and cons, it is an one time watch movie. Overall it leaves a positive mark on the audience, satisfying them and definitely deserves good grades.
